PGDay Russia 2014

Image
Just returned from first Russian PGDay, which we organized together with 404 Group

Good things:x§
The event was exiting,  high interest, great audiencePeople do use Postgres for really mission-critical high-available systems Bad things:
Lots of performance issues people struggling with, caused not by real world challenges, but by things like misconfigured autovacuum and other basic configuration problems (yes, the popular joke was "we need Russian autovacuum day 2015"). So, basically we have a lot of things to do and should better inform people about how to work with their PostgreSQL installations. That'is why PGDay Russia 2015 is a decided thing and the exact date will be announced   shortly.
